Come and join us for 3 days of workshops this November with our special guest, Professor Gugu Quilombola!
On November 17th, 18th and 19th, QMC Escola de Capoeira will be hosting a 3 day event with Professor Gugu Quilombola, focusing on "Creativity, Movement and Capoeira."
Professor Gugu Quilombola is well known for his creative game and movement and is often seen playing in the Praça da Republica in São Paolo. He was also a part of the Red Bull Paranaué event in January 2017.
A full event programme is shown below but workshops will include Afro dance, Creativity in Capoeira and Acrobatics.
EVENT PROGRAMME
Friday 17th Nov
Cost: £25
Location - Arena Sports Hall, Kingston College, KT1 2AQ
Nearest rail station is Kingston.
From Kingston station, cross the road at the traffic lights in front of the station, then follow the main road passing the subway on our right. Continue straight until you reach a round-about, the college will be across the road on the right.
Bus
There is a bus stop right outside and across the road from Kingston college bus routes include
65; 71; 281; 406; 418; 671; 965; K2; K3.
Kids Class - 5pm to 6.15pm
ADULTS AFRO CLASS - 6.30pm to 8pm
Prof Gugu will lead a Afro Dance Class and demonstrate how it improves the Capoeira Game.
OPEN RODA - 8.15pm to 9.30pm
After the event we will be going to a venue called Piper hall it is a 15 mins walk from Kingston College.
Exit the college turn right, cross over the road before the court, the turn left and follow the road. You will pass a pub and a park on the opposite side of the road. Continue until you reach a premier off licence, turn right then down the second road on your left. The venue will be at the end of the road
Saturday 18th Nov
Cost: £40
Location - Tiffin Boy's School, Kingston, KT2 6RL
Kids Class - 11am to 12.30pm
ADULTS - Stretching - 12.30pm to 1pm
ADULTS - CAPOEIRA FLOREIOS & CREATIVITY - 1pm to 2.30pm
Prof Gugu will show 3 Floreios each focusing in different techniques (Ie. Strength; Back Flexibility; Jumping) and teach how to use these floreios Creatively in the Capoeira game
ADULTS - CAPOEIRA MOVEMENTS & CREATIVITY - 2.45pm to 4.15pm
Prof Gugu will show a sequence of Capoeira movements to be used Creatively in the Capoeira game (Ie. Fintas with Attacks, Deceiving your opponent, Speed and Efficiency with Timing)
OPEN RODA - 4.30pm to 6.30pm
Participants will be encouraged to apply the movements learnt during the workshops in the roda.

Kids Class - 11am to 12.30pm (from 12pm Parents Join Kids)
ADULTS - Stretching - 12.30pm to 1pm
ADULTS - JOGO MANDINGADO - 1pm to 3pm
Prof Gugu will explain What is and How to do a "Jogo Mandingado"
OPEN RODA - 3.30pm to 5pm
Participants will be encouraged to apply the movements learnt during the workshops in the roda.
All Welcome to join us in this Open Roda!
PAPOEIRA - 5pm to 5.30pm
Participants will be able to ask Prof Gugu and guests questions about Capoeira in general
